Eladrin Cleric of the Raven Queen

Sokoudjou Raincinder was born and raised in the Feywild city of Riftlock, a veritable metropolitan fortress that straddles a tenuous meeting of the Feywild, Shadowfell, and the natural world. Here Soukoudjou grew up as all Eladrin of the city do, training to be the guardians of "the Rift Where the Worlds Meet". Training with the longsword began at an early age, along with an immersion in the arcane arts. As soon as he reached the required age (105), Soukoudjou began his mandatory five years of military service. All of this amounted to a typical upbringing in Riftlock, until Soukoudjou's fifth year. On his last year of service, he joined a routine patrol into the Shadowfell. A simple mission, that went horribly wrong.
While on patrol, the Bralani leading the squad saw something in the distance, flickering lights in the folded shadows of that dark land. Upon investigation, the patrol was attacked by nameless horrors invading from the Far Realm. This invasion also caught the attention of a band of Shadar-Kai warriors and witches who do not take kindly to intrusions into their land. The battle was bloody, leaving only Soukoudjou and a handful of Shadar-Kai alive to make sense of the attack. However, being an Eladrin in the Shadowfell, the Shadar-Kai were suspicious of Soukoudjou and took him prisoner.
For seven years Soukoudjou was a prisoner in the Shadowfell, occassionally being brought before a tribunal of witches to argue his innocence in the Far Realm invasion on that fateful day. During this time, his jailors became familiar with the Eladrin and he with his captors. In this time Soukoudjou found religion in the form of the Raven Queen, the patron deity of the Shadar-Kai. Through this newfound faith (and testimony from one of the witches who survived the battle on that fateful day) Soukoudjou was exonerated, released and even deemed an ally of the Shadar-Kai. He then spend the next few years in the Shadowfell where he developed a relationship with the very witch who argued on his behalf. In time though, he missed his true home and sought to return to Riftlock.
His homecoming, however, was not a joyous one. First, it meant the end of his affair with the Shadar-Kai witch who he had lived with for the past few years. Additionally, he found that his time away had changed him. His new outlook on life, and religion, was not particularly welcome in Riftlock. While not exactly ostricized or shunned, Soukoudjou found acceptance few and far between once he returned home. It did not take long for him to realize that Riftlock was no longer his home. However, he knew that the Shadowfell was not for him either. This left one option... the natural world and so he went.
After crossing over, Soukoudjou wandered the Thousand Mountains region for about three weeks before finding a small town by the name of Greenvale. The inhabitants seem friendly enough and tolerant of those who do not fit any set mold... perhaps here, Soukoudjou Raincinder might be able to settle down and reclaim the sense of belonging that comes with being able to call someplace 'home'.
