Dillingham
Dillingham - Halfling adventurer (retired)
The Halfling known by the single name of Dillingham is a cornerstone of the Greenvale community. Everyone, young and old, knows who the elderly (yet still fairly spry) Halfling is and he is generally loved through out the town. For most of the townsfolk Dillingham has been there for as long as they can remember and, in fact, many who now have children remember Dillingham telling them stories of his adventures when they were youngsters. While long ago the Halfling was an outrageous adventurer with many daring exploits (many of which were no doubt embelished for his stories to the children of Greenvale), he is retired now. However, the venerable Dillingham is far from living quietly these days. He is a constant counsel to Kelvant Artona, the Exalted Warden of Greenvale, and has even been know to take fledgling adventurers under his wing.
As for the details of Dillingham's life, they are hard to pin down. Most of Greenvale's residents have heard the stories of his exploits dozens of times, with each telling always being every so slightly different. At this point, no one is truly sure where the truth of his tales became exaggerated, only to then be understated and later exaggerated again. Needless to say, the tall tales of the short statured icon of the town are always welcomed as a good way to enjoy an idle afternoon or an evening among friends. Naturally, Dillingham's annual Summer Solstice party is an always popular affair which has become a sort of town holiday (along with the day afterwards due to the previous night's revelry).
However, Dillingham is far just a lovable, old, furry-footed, party-throwing resident of Greenvale. He has served as an advisor and counsel to every Exalted Warden since his arrival in the town some forty years ago. Being a natural leader, he has also been the organizer and chief supervisor of most community projects that are undertaken in Greenvale. Lastly, Dillingham often finds himself as the unofficial liason/ambassador/welcome wagon of Greenvale whenever such a person is needed. Because of this, it is not overly unusual for strange visitors to be seen coming or going from his modest estate at odd hours of the day and night.
